Sahastradhara means “Thousand Fold Springs”. Beyond the main tourist waterfall, there is a hidden village route that goes through caves, limestone rocks, sulphur springs and old villages like Karligad, Maldevta area. The water is believed to have medicinal properties. There is also Drona Cave Temple where Guru Drona worshipped Lord Shiva.

This is not the main crowded Sahastradhara, but a secret trail behind it with farms, river, jungle and pine trees.

Hike Details:
– Total Distance: 8-10 km both sides (can extend till 15 km loop to Maldevta)
– Elevation: ∼600-800m
– Starting Point: Sahastradhara main gate / Karligad village
– Time: 3-4 hours total
– Trail Type: Easy to moderate — River side walk, small caves, village fields, pine and sal forest
