About:
Jharipani is a beautiful, hidden waterfall located on the Dehradun – Mussoorie road, near Jharipani village. This waterfall is part of the old Kipling Trail (Rajpur to Mussoorie). It is peaceful, less crowded and surrounded by dense oak and pine forests.
Hike Details:
Route 1: Via Rajpur – Shahshahi Ashram, Dehradun (Long Route)
– Total Hike: 15 km
– Time: 2 hours one side
– This is the full heritage Kipling Trail route through 5 steep inclines (Paanch Kainchi). Raw and challenging.
Route 2: Via Mussoorie Road – Jharipani Village (Short Route)
– Total Hike: 3.5 km both sides (1.5 km one side)
– Time: 30-40 min going down, 50-60 min coming up (steep climb while returning)
– Elevation: ∼1,850m
– Trail Type: Beautiful forest trail with pine trees. The trail is steep and can be slippery in monsoon.
