About the Temple & Sanctuary:
Benog Wildlife Sanctuary is also known as Mussoorie Wildlife Sanctuary. It covers 10.82 sq km and is a part of Rajaji National Park, established on 2nd September 1993. At the top of Benog Hill (2,250m) there is a small temple dedicated to Maa Jwala Devi. The sanctuary is famous for Himalayan birds like Mountain Quail (now extinct), Red-billed Blue Magpie, Khalij Pheasant, and animals like Leopard, Himalayan Goral, Barking Deer.
The trail is full of dense oak, pine, deodar and rhododendron forests with wildflowers.

– Elevation: 2,250 meters (7,382 ft)
– Total Distance: 10-11 km both sides (approx 4 km one side to top)
– Start / End Point: Clouds End, West Mussoorie
– Time: 4-5 hours total, 2 hours to reach the top
– Trail Type: Easy to moderate, beautiful forest nature trail — perfect for secret trails and pine trees lovers
